Feeling stuck with traditional healing methods?

I felt the same way…almost a decade ago I was STUCK.

I experienced a significant health flare that took years to navigate and I still manage recurrently. I now know I was experiencing burnout both emotionally and physically, I had undiagnosed hEDS, (Ehlers Danlos Syndrome, Hypermobile type) and I had unprocessed trauma.

I was also really good at (and still am) at pushing through. I walked the path of reason and logic for a long time- I learned to talk myself into and out of almost anything. My body was being overruled by my mind- it felt like they did not speak the same language.

Then, almost a decade ago I personally started bodywork and somatic therapy. I returned to time in nature with an intentional relationship to my own seasons of the year vs. assuming I can ignore when my body yells “too much”. I’m still receiving, still being held by supportive elders in this work and forever grateful for finding relief and support. I am passionate about helping others find their way through the systems built to keep us sick.

Now...

I help clients return home to their bodies.

Trauma-Informed Bodywork and Somatic Embodiment Sessions

If you've done talk therapy and still feel stuck — like your body is holding something your mind can't quite reach — somatic therapy and trauma-informed bodywork can help you get there.

You might be a good fit for this work if you:

  • Feel disconnected from your body, or overwhelmed when you try to be present in it
  • Have a trauma history that talk therapy alone hasn't fully resolved
  • Want an integrative approach — not a single modality applied the same way to everyone
  • Are open to working outside the traditional medical model — a private-pay approach that lets me work with your whole self, not a segmented, billable framework dictated by insurance

Frequently Asked Questions

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW-C), and I bring that training into everything I do. But the sessions offered here are bodywork, not therapy — I'm not diagnosing, treating, or acting in a clinical capacity in this container. If you're looking for clinical trauma therapy, I'd love to connect you with the team at Anchored Hope Therapy.

Consultation for Clinicians & Bodyworkers

You're doing trauma work in the body — and it's demanding. Maybe you're newer to somatic approaches and want a steadier foundation. Maybe you're experienced but feel the weight of vicarious trauma creeping in. Either way, you don't have to figure this out alone.

I offer consultation for therapists, bodyworkers, and movement professionals who want to integrate somatic, nervous-system-informed, and trauma-responsive approaches into their work — grounded in the same framework I wrote about in Trauma-Informed Bodywork and co-created through the Trauma-Informed Personal Training Certification and Embodied Parts Integration Framework.

Consultation may be a fit if you:

  • Want to bring somatic or touch-based work into your practice with more confidence and clinical grounding
  • Are noticing signs of burnout or vicarious trauma from this work
  • Want case consultation on complex trauma presentations
  • Are curious about integrating traditional/energetic approaches without losing clinical rigor (Explore the Mind Body Integration Course)

Land & Labor Acknowledgment

I practice and live on the ancestral lands of the Piscataway and other Indigenous peoples of the Chesapeake region, whose relationship to this land and water continues today. Annapolis and the surrounding region were also shaped through the forced labor and resistance of enslaved people and their descendants. I acknowledge that the opportunities and institutions that exist here are inseparable from those histories. I also recognize that I am a descendant of Celtic peoples whose lands were fought over and whose people endured hardship and death in defense of their homes and culture. This acknowledgment is not intended as a symbolic gesture but as a reminder of responsibility. I strive to support justice by valuing fair labor, engaging honestly with history, and contributing where I can to more equitable communities. This commitment is ongoing and requires continued learning, accountability, and action.
